What’s the best motherboard? Because of their focus on shipping volumes of low-cost boards, ECS is generally a strong supporter of SiS chipsets and thus we were a bit surprised to see that they were ready with a KT board for this roundup. As for the rest of your setup, the GF3 Ti is not a good choice. I would second the K7s5a, it’s a real nice no frills board. Mon Aug 12, 1: Have you read TigerDirect’s ResellerRatings? You would find the same with K7VTA3, and will be disappointed if you plan on overclocking etc.

What’s the best motherboard? ECS K7VTA3 Version 3.1? PLEASE HELP!!
As for the rest of your setup, the GF3 Ti is not a good choice. Tue Aug 13, 5: I think on-board sound will do me just fine.
There is no clock multiplier support but surprisingly enough j7vta3 are a handful of FSB frequencies that you can choose from. I really liked it until I started reading all these reviews about how terrible it is, how unstable it is, how it fries parts, etc. Though it does have extra ide channels form the onboard promise raid controller.
I’d heard that it consistently outperforms the Radeon I would second the K7s5a, it’s a real nice no frills board. I just picked up an MSI kt ultra2, although it does not have onboard LAN, it does have audio and USB2 and ata courtesy of the new via southbridgeand used the xp ondie thermal diode.

Sun Aug 11, 5: Have you talked to anyone who’s ever bought from TigerDirect? Mon Aug 12, 4: Prices are from Newegg, you decide which is the best deal.
What’s the best motherboard? Tue Aug 13, 4: The lack of any significant overclocking features is understandable considering ECS’ dedication to the OEM market but we would still like to see them introduced in at least an enthusiast line of boards if possible.
Oh, and you are buying all of this from Newegg, right?
The sheer volume of motherboards and the very low prices that they sell for make ECS a formidable competitor; ECS has even forced ASUS to pursue a new low-cost motherboard brand of their own in order to compete.
As it is, I’m using a sound blaster 16, which is still plenty for me There’s not much in the way of overclocking features for this board, so a larger heatsink isn’t necessary. Kv7ta3 board also features three DIMM slots all of which can be populated without sacrificing stability. But then again, this board has had plenty of time to mature laj refine.
What I’d really like is a Soyo Dragon Ultra Platinum, but price, y’know even from newegg, where I will be getting all this of course, what do you take me for? Mon Aug 12, 5: Decide to buy something from TigerDirect, then go burn the money you were going to send to TigerDirect.

You would find the same with K7VTA3, and will be disappointed if you plan on overclocking etc. Now’s your chance to stop a guy who’s relatively new to this only built one system before from making a big mistake or applaud a great decision! Despite of the support for 6 USB 2. I’d go for Geforce4, but once again, there’s that price issue damn it, why can’t I k7vfa3 rich?
Can you recommend something else? The reviews in Newegg seem to be decent.
